John Weber: I'm John Weber, and this is your WHYY Philly Phun Phact. Philadelphia is home to thousands of pieces of fine art, but one of the most spectacular has gotta be the Dream Garden in the lobby of the Curtis Publishing Building on Sixth Street.

Jim Murphy: Measuring 15 by 49 feet, Dream Garden was produced by the Tiffany Studios in 1916 using over 100,000 pieces of Favreau glass, each hand fired to achieve perfection in each of the 260 colors.

John Weber: That's tour guide Jim Murphy, author of Real Philly History, Real Fast, who says the enormous glass mosaic was designed by artist Maxfield Parrish and executed by Lewis Comfort Tiffany.

Jim Murphy: The partnership of Tiffany and Parrish has been called one of the major artistic collaborations in early 20th century America.

John Weber: Dream Garden was designated as the city's first ever historic object by the Philadelphia Historical Commission. I'm John Weber, and that's your WHYY Philly Phun Phact.
