John Weber: I'm John Weber, and this is your WHYY Philly Phun Phact. One of the most magnificent buildings from the Centennial Exhibition of 1876 and one of the few still standing is the Ohio House in West Fairmount Park.

Jim Murphy: Located in the Centennial District of the park, the Ohio House was built from a sandstone mined from 21 counties across the Buckeye State and is the only state building that remains from the Centennial Exhibition of 1876.

John Weber: That's tour guide Jim Murphy, author of Real Philly History, Real Fast, who says the house sat vacant for years.

Jim Murphy: However, for preparation of the US Bicentennial in 1976, the Ohio House underwent a meticulous restoration process. This rejuvenation highlighted its historical significance and architectural beauty.

John Weber: These days, it's the home of the Fairmount Park Conservancy and is on the National Register of Historic Places. I'm John Weber, and that's your WHYY Philly Phun Phact.
